Friday 11th July 2008 the D-Day for mobile industry and the iPhone aspirants as the Apple’s iPhone3G is set to hit the market at 8:00AM. While New Zealand will see the world’s first iPhone launch at 00:01 local time on the 11th. In UK, 02 has already taking pre-order which facilitates the home delivery of the iPhone3G on July11.As the day is approaching there had been huge chaos in the propagation of the tariffs and rent plans for iPhone3G announced by the subscribers.
Here is a simplified version of those plans for the AT&T Network. AT&T have classified its users as “Upgrade Eligible” and “Upgrade Ineligible”. The Upgrade Eligible subscribers are classified by your credit history and the time remaining on your contract. The Upgrade Eligible subscribers will be able to buy the iPhone3G for the discounted price of $199 for the 8GB version or $299 for the 16GB model.
And the case of the non eligible subscribers it been more tougher to get iPhone3G into their hands. These users have to shell out $399 for the 8GB iPhone 3G or $499 for the 16GB model. And thats not the two plans illustrated above is contract plans (for a period of two years) and AT&T have “no-commitment” plans too which will be available soon, at $599 for the 8GB version and or $699 for the 16GB handset.
The detailed tariff plans for iPhone3G, each plan comes bundled with unlimited data; $70 a month gets you 450 minutes and 5,000 night/weekend minutes, while a 900-minute plan with unlimited nights/weekends goes for $90. A 1,350-minute plan will cost $110 per month. Family plans are available, and business data plans will cost $45 a month. Text messages are extra, too. Individuals pay $5 for 200 texts per month, $15 for 1,500 a month, or $20 for unlimited texting. For family plans, you’ll pay $30 a month for unlimited messaging.
Hope owing an iPhone3G is not that easy as Steve Jobs said its just $199. And for those despite the cost planning to own the wonder gadget, it would be better to line up well before sunrise.

It's hard to think of any other device that's enjoyed the level of exposure and hype that Apple found in the launch of the first iPhone.
It's even harder to think of a more willing participant in this charade than engadget. It would be completely missing the scale of things to say that you just drank the Kool-Aid. Nay, you brewed it yourselves, with home grown ingredients and fresh spring water that you hand carried in little clay jars from the mountains while walking beds of hot coal and battling dragons. But hey, let the mayhem ensue…

I was extremely happy with my Kindle 1. Sure, it has some usability problems, but I wrote a long 5-star review for it here last June.
I considered not purchasing the Kindle 2 because I didn’t expect its improvements to be worth the investment. However, I am very glad I bought Kindle 2. It is much easier to use: impossible to do an unintentional page advance, greatly improved navigation, and those painful sharp corners have been reshaped into pleasant curves.
My husband is now using my Kindle 1. Because both are registered to the same account we can now share books instead of making separate purchases - a very satisfactory outcome.
