India had been eagerly waiting for the iPhone3G since its launch, but I hope this wait may be a never ending waiting for the common middle class Indian as the price tag at which iPhone3G going to be sold in India is just not what he had dreamt.  I still remember Steave Jobs proclaiming iPhone3G at just $199 (Rs.9000) anywhere in the world, and wonder which countries had he referred as the world as none got it for $199.

iPhone3G India Price

I am placing the excerpt from the Official Vodafone Site which claims to launch iPhone 3G on August 22 with its pricing.

The iPhone 3G is available in 8GB and 16GB at Rs 31,000 and Rs 36,100 respectively. And as you have already pre-registered with us, you can get it before others do. All you need to do is drop in at a select Vodafone Store between August 20 and 21 and confirm your booking by paying Rs 10000 through cash or credit card. Don’t forget to show the iPhone booking SMS, which you would have received from us, when you visit the Vodafone Store to make the deposit.
Do that, and we’ll give you an appointment date and time starting August 22, when you can come and experience a full demonstration as well as collect your iPhone 3G, all ready to use with your contacts and settings, by paying the balance amount.
Remember, the sooner you confirm your booking, the earlier you’ll get your iPhone. We have limited stocks and it will be on first come, first serve basis.
If you are not an existing Vodafone customer, you will need a Vodafone connection for your iPhone 3G. We recommend that when you come to confirm your booking, please do get yourself a Vodafone connection too. Remember to carry a passport sized picture, photo ID proof and address proof as these are required for activating your Vodafone SIM card.

Many middle class Indians including me dreaming own iPhoneat any point of his life will have to rethink or get himself satisfied with the one they have. And those interested in going for iPhone3G do chase on to the nearest Vodafone store and get your iPhone3G booked by paying 10k.

The iPhone 3G is available in 8GB and 16GB at Rs 31,000 and Rs 36,100 respectively.

Are you gonna buy iPhone3G? do comment YES or NO with the reason! And If you have any recommendations for any other mobiles that can substitute iPhone3G pls do let us know.

    Sir,
I am very sorry to say this but I found nothing attractive in IPHONE3G when compared to other very good phone available in india from different companies.

This phone has nothing special and above all it does not have : 1. Good Camera, 2. vedio Recording, 3. MMS facility, 4. Video Calling…………then what the hell this all “Hungama” is all about?

In my views this IPhone can only be compared to the class “C” we have been using and throwing so far.

And what else its price…..??????????…….. Oh my god? are the manufacturers beef and blind as if they could not compare it to other good phones.

Indians are are the most intelligent and wise people in this world and they will simply reject it…..you see….I am pretty sure about it.

Arvind Sharma thanx for your comment…
i too feel that iPhone3G is not gonna have a great market in India…as Indian are more of quality and money conscious and just dont follow the brand as the east. I suggest N96 is a better bid when compared the quality vs price ratio.
