Today is Blog Action Day and the cause for the year is Poverty. Its a day where bloggers around the globe fight for a collective cause. Poverty according to the wiki is is deprivation of common necessities that determine the quality of life, including food, clothing, shelter and safe drinking water, and may also include the deprivation of opportunities to learn, to obtain better employment to escape poverty, and/or to enjoy the respect of fellow citizens.
According to me Poverty is just an after effect of illiteracy and population explosion, just check on the map for the countries which suffer from the above problems and its sure that the country is also suffered from Poverty. The basis of poverty alleviation should be providing education to all.
Being a Tech Blog, in this occasion I would like to emphasize an Online Service called Free Rice. FreeRice is a charity website where users play a various educational multiple-choice games in order to raise money to fight world hunger. The games include chemistry, multiplication tables, English vocabulary, English grammar, basic foreign language vocabulary for English speakers (French, German, Italian, and Spanish), geography (world capitals and country identification), and art.
So just play it out and do your little bit in helping the hungry one, for every correct answer the site donates 20 grains of rice to the UN World Food Program.
There a lot of other similar services where you can actually donate for various similar causes

i love freerice. i try to play at least once daily, and donate at least a thousand grains. :) also, put up the banner on my blog.
i'm also rather fond of kiva and goodsearch, as ways people can help alleviate poverty online, fairly easily. :)
