Its been a couple of years after the launch of the I Gadgets which include mp3 player like ipod,imac,ibook and iphones. Even these gadgets were highly successful in the market, hope Apple could have done more into the markets with simple and user friendly devices. Take an example the most hyped gadget of the year the iPhone3G had been thrown out the mobile space due to initial activation of the phone at Apple and AT&T counters, or possibly one of the reasons for its decline.

Most of the windows and linux users have found it difficult to use the iPods/iPhone just because it lacks clarity or simplicity while making it loaded with your media content, a huge lot of issues when you copy your content back to your PC and lot more which would be feature right here in the next feq posts. Now lets go with basics of ipod/iPhone, transferring music, photos and videos to your ipod. Hope this would be a beginners guide for iPod/iPhone.

The first and foremost thing you need to have is the Latest Version of iTunes Software that can be downloaded from the Apple’s Official Site or Click Here. And then all those required for the transfer thats a PC, iPod and the cable.

Connect iPod to your computer using the cable. Be sure the connectors on both the ends are oriented correctly as they can be inserted only one way. Once the iPod is properly plugged on to the computer, the iTunes applications opens automatically.

How To Copy Songs or Videos To Your iPod/iPhone?

Most of the the iGadgets like iPod, iPod nano, or iPod touch or those with a screen allows you to both listen and view media content. You can add music, audiobooks, podcasts, games, and videos to iTunes in a few different ways. So start your itunes applications and just follow the instructions.

To add audio and video files already existing on your computer, simply drag the files onto the Library icon in the iTunes Source list.

To add music from your own CDs, insert an audio CD into your computer and then drag the CD icon that appears in the Source list onto the Library icon to add the entire album, or select the CD icon in the Source list and then drag whatever songs you want from the right-side pane to the library.

Step1: Connect iPod or iPhone to your computer

Step2: Open iTunes.

Step3: Select iPod or iPhone in the Devices list (the device to which you want to copy the content).

Step4: Click the Summary tab and select “Manually manage music and videos.”

Step5: Click Apply, When manual management is enabled, you can still sync some content automatically.

Step7: After following the steps above, you can add individual songs, videos, and playlists from iTunes to your iPod or iPhone. Just drag the item to the iPod or iPhone icon in the Devices list on the left-hand side of the iTunes Window.

How To Copy Photos To Your iPod/iPhone?

iTunes can sync photos to your iPod from several applications or directly from a folder of photos.  If you’re using your iPod with a Mac, you can view JPEG, TIFF, JPG 2000, GIF, PICT, PNG, SGI, and BMP photos; with a Windows-based iPod, you can view JPEG, TIFF, GIF, PNG, and BMP photos.

Step1: Connect iPod or iPhone to your computer

Step2: Open iTunes.

Step3: Select iPod or iPhone in the Devices list (the device to which you want to copy the content).

Step4: In the main iTunes browser window, select the Photos tab.

Step5: Select the “Sync photos from” checkbox, then select either My Pictures, Choose Folder, or, if you have either program installed, Adobe Photoshop Album or Adobe Photoshop Elements, from the drop-down menu.

• If you choose My Pictures, choose “All photos” to copy all photos in the folder, or select “Selected folders only”, to sync particular subfolders.
• If you choose Choose Folder, navigate to and select the folder of photos you want, then click OK. Select the “All photos” to copy all photos in the folder, or choose “Selected folders” to sync particular subfolders.
• If you choose Adobe Photoshop Album or Adobe Photoshop Elements, select “All photos and albums” to copy all of your photos in your chosen program, or “Selected albums only”, then choose any checkbox next to the albums you want to include.

Step6: Once you have decided which photos you’d like to sync, click Apply.

Now any time you add photos to your synced folder or album, iTunes will automatically update the pictures on your iPod whenever you connect it to your computer.
