Most of you reading this could already have used the gmail application for mobile which is really simple and easy to use, but the service i am going to explain is about the push email that uses IMAP service of GMail which pushes the mails to your mobile or PDA as soon as you get it on your Inbox. And you may receive your emails just like your text messages on your mobile. You can create,delete,forward your emails just like those simple text message operations on your mobile and everything is reflected on your inbox too, thats the power of IMAP. Lets see how we can configure push mail service in your mobile.image

Requirements:

Mobile/PDA supporting email facility

GPRS/EDGE to connect to mail server

IMAP Facility enabled in Gmail Click Here To See How

How To Configure Push Email For GMail on Your Mobile?

Configure the email client on your phone with the following information

Incoming Mail Server:

Mailbox name: Gmail

Email/user ID: Your Gmail ID
Password: Your Gmail Password
Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com

Mailbox Type: IMAP4
Security Ports: SSL
Port: 993 or Default in some phones

Outgoing Mail Server:


Email/user ID: Your Gmail ID
Password: Gmail Password
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
Security Ports: SSL/TSL
Port: 465 or 587 or Default in some phones

Once everything is done go to the newly created mail box and click connect. Thats it all the mails are flown directly to your mobile as soon as you receive it in your inbox.
